Creamy Cannoli Gelato

If you want the ultimate in creamy goodness, nothing beats this wonderful Creamy Cannoli Gelato recipe. Not with the traditional gelato ingredients, this recipe is ideal if you are want something more than just fruit and milk-based gelato. Creamy Cannoli Gelato can be topped with chocolate syrup, Amaretto or Frangelico.


Gelato Ingredients

    
* 2 cups milk
    
* 2 cups cream
    
* 2 / 3 cup sugar
    
* 12 ounces mascarpone cheese softened
    
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 100%


Optional ingredients

    
* 4.1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
    
* 04.01 cup chopped almonds or pistachios
Combine the milk, cream and sugar in a medium saucepan and provide a medium heat. Stir the mixture until it begins to boil, then remove from heat. Add in the vanilla and let it all cool. Place a blanket on the mix and in the refrigerator for about 2 hours or overnight.


Later, or the next day, stir in the mascarpone until it is mixed with the dough gelato. Add in the optional chocolate chips and / or almonds / pistachios. Transfer the mixture into a gelato maker and freeze according to manufacturer's instructions. Enjoy immediately.
